The Golden Circle

Simon Sinek is a British-American author and speaker. He became known through his book "Start with Why" (2009) and the TED talk of the same theme, "How Great Leaders Inspire Action" — to this day one of the most-watched TED talks ever.

His core idea: most people and companies communicate from the outside in — first WHAT (product, task, result), then HOW, rarely WHY. Inspiring leaders and brands do it the other way around: they start with WHY — the belief, the purpose behind it — and only then move to HOW and WHAT.

Why this resonates with me

It fits my own approach: communication is more than information — it starts with clarity about purpose before talking about products, processes, or rules. That holds true in business just as much as in parenting: kids follow a clear "why" more readily than a bare instruction.
